Life is a Gamble!
June 21, 2023
I would have been happy if there were no life after death. Nothing to worry about God, Satan, life, existence, and creation.
But after experiencing and tasting another dimension higher than ours, I am now challenged to prepare for death, ascension to another life and existence, and to know more about creation.
My doubting and curious mind takes comfort on Blaise Pascal’s wager argument (paraphrased): “There’s nothing to lose if there’s no God, but there’s so much to gain if there’s God.”
Wow, life is really a gamble…
Life is a continuing ascent from the physical
to the mental and Consciousness realms
Paul J. Dejillas, Ph.D. - April 23, 2022
But living in a four-dimensional world of space-time makes it difficult for us human beings to stay permanently at the highest realm.
We always fall back again and again to take care of our physical and mental needs that seem to outweigh us over time.
But it is not so much the ascent that matters as our ability to apply what we have learned at the Consciousness realm.
When we allow our Consciousness to influence our thoughts, emotions, and our dealings with others and our environment, then, there’s a great chance that our country will be much better off than what we are experiencing today.
For Consciousness has no religion, no political parties, no ideology, no platform of government, no race, no gender, no age, no nationality, no color, no caste system.
As a synthesizing element, Consciousness is far different from Karl Marx’s dialectical materialism. First of all, until now Marx’s synthesis remains illusory and it will never be achieved. For if it’s applied to sociology and political science, it means killing the landlord by the proletariat to give rise to a new class.
Second of all, history has borne witness to the fact that this Marxian type of dialectics has miserably failed. Attempts to revive and resurrect it always fail. It’s becoming an endangered species.
Life Is a Never-Ending Journey
March 4, 2022
I don't know where to go. Every step I take I always feel journeying back home. But where is home?
"I've been staring at the edge of the water as long as I can remember, never really knowing why...
"But I always come back to the water, no matter how hard I try
Every turn I take, every trail I track, every path and road I make,
always leads back to this place."
And I don't know why. I only know that from the water, we all came and like the flowing water, life rides joyfully on its own current.
Life has become a continuing journey going to nowhere and arriving at nowhere. Yet, it continues to move on, confident it will arrive at a place where it has always been set from the very beginning of time and space.
It's time for me to go. See you all there, Folks!
Where Did Our Life Originate?
May 6, 2022
The ancient philosophers traced the origin of life from the elements of Nature. For example, Thales (624-547 B.C.) postulated that life originated from water.
But his student Anaximander (611-547 B.C.) theorized about an unknown unlimited ethereal substance or force, that is not subject to decay or old age, as the beginning of life.
A student of Anaximander, Anaxagoras (570-500 B.C.), had a different view. He believed that it is air, not water nor the ethereal substance. Not to be outdone, his contemporary, Diogenes (412-323 B.C.) felt that the life-giving force was fire.
This was not end of it.
Empedocles (504-433 B.C.) attributed the origin of life to all the four elements of Nature, namely, fire, earth, water, and air.
But it was Democritus (470-380 B.C.), a contemporary of Empedocles, who pioneered a novel theory, now named as atomic theory, that connected the origin of life to atoms whose movement and merger in space led to a union that gave birth to the Cosmos.
Quantum physics disagrees. Physicists found that there is a force that lies much deeper than the natural elements of air, fire, earth, and water.
Life Goes On Whether We Like It Or Not
November 5, 2021
Life goes on whether we like it or not. And we have to go with it. For when darkness catches us up, its strong force will mercilessly throw us into a fiery pit where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
So, let's move faster than the speed of darkness. For, when darkness catches us up, it enters into us and we become darkness ourselves. And when darkness takes over us, its wicked force will unleash its power to completely subdue us. Eventually, life recedes and we die in utter darkness.
There can only be life when there's light. So, let's always fan whatever is left of that glimmering ember within us so that, as it gradually grows and expands, it will thoroughly enlighten our entire body, mind, and spirit. Then, we become light ourselves.
Let's be transformed by the light so we can live life fully and even embrace others by our light.
Let Life Direct Us
October 16, 2021
Let's chill out and let life direct us rather than us directing it. Leave our baggage behind -- our worries and anxieties about our past and our insecurities about our future -- so life can soar freely high into the sky. Let's allow life to lead us to a place it wants us to be. This could be more meaningful, rather than demanding from life the things we need so we can live the kind of life we want.
Life Has an Expiry Date
September 16, 2021
I'm not trying to be morbid. I'm just trying to be a devoted die-hard freaking pragmatic realist.
Chances are, we will never see each other again during and after these trying times. But I hope this pandemic is short-lived and will end before our expiry date. For life can be incomplete without seeing each other before we depart from our earthly abode.
But, like Albert Einstein, I'll try to bargain for an extension of my life just so I can meet you face-to-face before the final curtain falls. In case this will not happen, we can always hope that in the future we will see each other again out there in the vast expanse of time and space.
But while the curtain is still up, let's continue communicating and communing with each other online in the social media and make use of our interaction as productively and spiritually inspiring as possible, mindful of our final destiny.
Journey Through Life
Paul J. Dejillas - May 6, 2021
Journeying alone along a path seldom traveled is always better if only to avoid any distraction and obstruction that could slow down progress. Getting rid of hindrances becomes an inevitable necessity. There’s so much to see “out there” that remains to be known.
I Am Not Engaged in a Race for Time
May 28, 2021
From our time perspective, there's no end in our search for the truth. But I am not joining in a race and the path I'm treading on is not a racetrack. A race suggests competition. It suggests winning a price. I cannot imagine myself working just to win a Nobel laureate.
Like an ordinary farmer, I no longer expect the fruits of my labor, leaving it entirely to the elements of Nature to finish the job and bear the fruits for me. I have done my part of tilling it, freeing it from impending pest attacks, fertilizing it, selecting the best and most robust seeds, even putting up scarecrows to protect my crops. And, I am enjoying what I am doing. I have done my part. I can do nothing anymore. I don't complain and hold grudges with Nature if my field is inundated with water, ravaged by fire, swarmed with pests, and bombarded with toxic elements.
I'm not troubled by what St. Paul means when he said: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7). He must have some underlying motivations in mind, which do not resonate with my views. This is understandable because time and conditions have greatly changed today.
Life Is Too Short!
Paul J. Dejillas, Ph.D.
October 3, 2016
Life is far too important a thing to talk seriously about. It's a waste of time philosophizing or theologizing about it.
It's filled with enigmas, synchronicities, and chance encounters. It has no prepared map, GPS, or a step-by-step guide on how to live life fully.
Where or what our next step will be, depends on the step we take in the present moment. And there are an infinite number of steps lying before us every moment of the day.
What our treasure will be, depends on whether or not we are able to find the sign directing us to the next step and so on until we hit our treasure. Only the individual concerned is able to tell whether or not he or she has already found his or her treasure.
We may hit the treasure during this lifetime or in the next. But if we want to hit the jackpot before our physical body disappears, we need to always focus our will and intent on it every moment of the day. Every step we take, and every choice we make will determine whether we will fail or succeed in finding our treasure.
Some who are able to achieve their treasure early in this lifetime are now on the higher ladder of cosmic evolution. They're still here with us helping and guiding others to find their treasure.
We need only to open our minds to them, listen to their messages, and apply them in our daily lives. Then, every thought, feeling, and act we take is a step trodden on the path we take.
Yet, every step we take is not a guarantee that we will find our treasure, since we may falter along the way. But the possibility and probability of hitting it is greater than when we let our mind, feelings, and actions go astray.
